The Last Days of Ilam
Capital of the dwarven kingdom. Ironhome is both an impressive fortress and a beautifully crafted city. There are two main sections of the city called Marble and Granite. The Marble section of the city is where the palace, library, temples and the entrance to The Underway are. The Marble section is surrounded by a massive 100 foot high 20 foot thick inner wall. The Granite section is the more common area of town, where all the inns, shops and craftsmen are. The Granite section is surround by the city’s outer wall which is 60 feet high and 15 feet thick. Ironhome is probably the strongest fortress on Ilam and has never fallen, mostly because no one’s ever been crazy enough to attack it.
After The Cataclysm a third section has been added to Ironhome. The refugees that haven’t been allowed to live inside the city have built a large ramshackle of wooden buildings outside the city walls. The dwarves of the city do not like this, but they haven’t the heart to turn the refugees away. The Woodsprawl, as they have come to call it, causes no end of problems. It is filthy and a haven for criminals and all kinds of unsavory activity.
